As a survivor of some pretty horrible traumas. I found the best way to recover is having happy memories. If you can reach back on times of Joy and laughter it helps push through the bad times. I first started making balloons publicly when we came out of Covid. There were a lot of unhappy people. The balloons made them smile and laugh. They also started talking to the others around them. It created a way for people to engage, in a positive uplifting way. When I returned from a work and found my construction tools were stollen I took it as a sign that I should be spreading of JOY instead of drywall 😊.
I traveled and spread Joy but, in the background I’ve been working on two sites. One is like the Rose City Resource Guide only to a larger scale. The other is a site for trauma survivors to connect with each other anonymously; no trackers, no log-in, no IP captures. I have met with an attorney. I was advised that not only is such a site needed for Domestic violence and sexual assault survivors but for Fire Fighters, EMT’s, Police Officers, military personal and anyone else that needs to connect with others; without their name and face getting out. (I am aware that this program is really needed now.) I would like to continue this work.
I have been looking for work and doing interviews, but no job yet.
I have a large skill set. Even if you don’t want balloons or face painting. I can clean, organize, paint walls and fix stuff. If you have a job that can help me earn money while I’m looking for work, that would be wonderful.
The van I am in will not pass DEQ. The estimates for repairs is more than the van is worth.
If anyone wants to donate one? Accept payments or has work I can do to earn a van? I can convert a regular van into a camper. I use it for an office a regular car isn’t big enough to work in.
The lap top I have is old and has a lot of problems: no camera, bad pixels, almost non-existent battery, it keeps dropping wi-fi and an extremely low RAM.
I would love: 64 Ram, 16in, touch screen, back light keys… but I could work with 16 Ram, touch screen, with a camera and decent battery life.
Everything costs money: gas, office supplies, Tri-met, server space, programs, materials, as well as balloons, and other equipment that’s needed. I am looking for work but if I have enough to pay the bills I can continue building a larger version of the resource guide, an anonymous site for trauma survivors; while spreading Joy and laughter.
